Quality is one of VPK Packaging Group’s towers of strength

Between 1994 and 2003, VPK Packaging N.V. and Oudegem Papier N.V. were holders of an ISO 9002 certificate. By implementing ISO 9002, we also succeeded in more than meeting our customer’s expectations.

In 2003, VPK Packaging and Oudegem Papier readily obtained ISO 9001 certification version 2000. Making sure ISO 9001 remains a going concern is ensured by improvement programmes that feed one another and comply fully with the ISO standards – but with an extra VPK Packaging touch determined by the information obtained from customer satisfaction surveys.

One of the focal points for 2005 was the expansion of an all-embracing training programme, not only to ISO 9001 and BRC-IOP but also to all training needs.

The other companies within the group have also obtained the necessary certification.

Also in 2008, Oudegem Papier continuously optimises its service in regard of these certificates. 

Food safety

At the end of 2003, an Order in Council on Food Safety was published in the Moniteur Belge and its provisions on self-inspection and traceability come into effect on 1 January 2005.

VPK Packaging Group regards guaranteeing to its customers and partners that packaging products are safe for food as a crucial and ethically responsible expansion of its policy.

At the beginning of March 2005, VPK Packaging NV obtained BRC-IOP certificates for its production plants in Erembodegem (Aalst) and Oudegem (Dendermonde).
These certificates confirm that both plants meet international food safety standards in the manufacture of packaging materials from either corrugated board or solid board.
These certificates were again smoothly obtained for 2009-2010.

Work is currently going on to obtain an equivalent certificate for Corex, our Cores/Tubes and Edge Protectors business unit.

VPK Packaging Group also intends implementing international food safety standards in its production plants in the United Kingdom, Netherlands and France.
