Corrugated board

In 2010 572,000 tons of corrugated board were produced.
Corrugated board plays a significant role in the logistics chain as an efficient material for providing the best possible distribution. Corrugated board meets the most diverse market demands, including stackability, shock resistance, resistance to climate variations and printability. In many cases it is the perfect choice – also because of its low cost and moderate production cost. Moreover, corrugated board is the ideal medium on which to print promotional communication.
Corrugated board is our most important end product and the driving force for our growth, thanks to our strong presence on the European market and the high level of service to our customers.

Competitive position

We enhance our service to our customers by means of logistical packaging concepts, high-quality printing and new product developments. This total service to the customer is combined in the VPK Packaging Solutions concept, which is further reinforcing the position of VPK Packaging Group NV in the market.

For strategic reasons, in order to be able to continue to play its role in a fast-changing European packaging market, VPK Packaging Group NV together with Klingele Papierwerke GmbH & Co KG (DE), Rafael Hinojosa SA (ES) and Mauro Benedetti SpA (IT) established a European Economic Collaboration called Blue Box Partners in 2006.
From a commmercial perspective Blue Box Partners represents a combined production capacity of 2.2 million m². This enabled Blue Box Partners to position itself on the European market as one of the most important partners for the production and delivery of packaging for manufacturers of so-called "fast moving consumer goods".

Plants

We have 13 integrated corrugated board plants in the Benelux, France, Great Britain, Poland and Romania.

In Belgium Saucas Europe POS NV is a producer of sales promotion displays and packaging, mainly using corrugated board, providing synergies with the existing corrugated board factories. Since 2009 Saucas Europe POS NV has been based in Aalst.
In France Ondulys Référence SAS is the ideal logistics partner as a "one-stop" shop for specialised packaging.
Rigid Charta Ltd., formerly Rigid Aston Ltd., with production site in Aston (near Birmingham) produces "single face" corrugated board that is used as a packaging material for items such as window frames and radiators.

Next to that we have 3 corrugated board processing factories ("sheet plants") in France where bought-in corrugated board sheets are processed into specialised packaging.
