Twinpack BV, a Dutch subsidiary of VPK Packaging Group NV, specialises in packaging for flowers, bulbs and plants. In addition to its establishment in Noordwijkerhout, it operates out of its branch in Barneveld for the sale of packaging for poultry and eggs, and is also a major supplier in the Netherlands as regards packaging for the meat industry.

Twinpack employs 46 people and expects to post a turnover of EUR 47 million for 2007. In 2006 the contribution of Twinpack BV to the consolidated profit of VPK Packaging Group NV was 1 mio EUR.

Noorderhuys Participaties BV invests venture capital in Dutch companies. The fund targets companies with an enterprise value of between EUR 10 million and 60 million.

The sale of Twinpack BV is prompted by a strategic move on the part of VPK Packaging Group NV to concentrate on its core activities, namely those of a producer of high-quality packaging manufactured with recycled paper fibre.
VPK Packaging Group NV’s core activities are thus based on two basic principles: “protection” of the products that our customers manufacture and “recycling” of paper that serve as the raw materials for packaging.

It is also against this background that the EUR 50 million investment for the reconstruction of a paper machine in Oudegem (Belgium) should be viewed. This modification increases production capacity from 360,000 tons/year to 450,000 tons/year.

Twinpack BV originally grew out of a cooperative society and a number of family businesses. Over the last ten years VPK Packaging Group NV has consolidated this market by taking over and incorporating various small-scale distributors. The shift in strategy being carried through by VPK Packaging Group NV means that with the sale to Noorderhuys Participaties BV, Twinpack gets a product-independent shareholder which will give it the chance to implement the growth strategy it wants to pursue in respect of all packaging products.

Twinpack BV, une filiale néerlandaise de VPK Packaging Group SA, est spécialisée dans les emballages pour fleurs, bulbes et plantes. Outre sa filiale de Noordwijkerhout, elle opère également depuis sa filiale de Barneveld, où elle commercialise des emballages pour volaille et œufs. Twinpack BV est aussi un fournisseur important en matière d’emballages pour l’industrie de la viande.

Twinpack emploie 46 personnes et prévoit, pour 2007, un chiffre d’affaires de 47 millions d’euros. Pour l’exercice 2006, la contribution de Twinpack BV au profit consolidé de VPK Packaging Group NV était 1 mio EUR.

Noorderhuys Participaties BV investit des capitaux à risque dans des entreprises néerlandaises. Le fonds se concentre sur les entreprises présentant une valeur d’entreprise de 10 à 60 millions d’euros.

La vente de Twinpack BV est dictée par l’orientation stratégique de VPK Packaging Group SA, qui veut se concentrer sur ses activités de base : la production d’emballage de qualité à base de fibres de papier recyclées.
La mission de VPK Packaging Group SA est noble: « protéger » des produits fabriqués par ses clients et « recycler » les vieux papiers et cartons utilisés comme matière première pour ses emballages.

C’est également dans ce contexte qu’un investissement de 50 millions d’euros a été consenti pour la transformation d’une machine à papier à Oudegem (Belgique). La transformation précitée fait passer la capacité de production de 360.000 à 450.000 tonnes par an.

A l’origine, Twinpack BV est né d’une coopérative et de quelques entreprises familiales. Ces 10 dernières années, VPK Packaging Group SA a consolidé ce marché en rachetant et en intégrant plusieurs petits distributeurs. Avec le changement de stratégie au sein du VPK Packaging Group SA et la vente de Twinpack à Noorderhuys Participaties BV, Twinpack se dote d’un actionnaire indépendant des produits, qui lui permet de mettre en œuvre la stratégie de croissance souhaitée pour tous les produits d’emballage.
