1. General
SITA Paper Recycling and Trading (SPRT), a division of SITA Northern Europe Waste Services, a division of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, acquired the shares of Doopa NV and Doopatrans NV on 1 August. Doopa NV and Doopatrans NV are subsidiaries of VPK Packaging Group.
Doopa NV is a specialist company collecting and processing paper from inter-municipal companies, firms and private individuals. Doopa NV has branches in Roeselare, Erembodegem and Dendermonde. Doopatrans NV has an extensive truck fleet and covers a large number of industrial and private clients with some 500 waste containers.
Doopa NV and Doopatrans NV employ 29 staff, who will continue to work for the new organisation following the takeover. The current activities will be continued at the sites in Erembodegem and Roeselare and will be fully integrated into the structure of SITA Paper Recycling and Trading.
Mathieu Berthoud, COO SITA Northern Europe, explains: “This takeover is a further milestone in the development of SITA’s recycling activities in Europe. SITA currently processes and markets some 1.5 million tons of waste paper from 17 specialised sites in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, making it one of the leading players in this market. This acquisition strengthens SITA’s market-leading position in Belgium. With a well-balanced geographical distribution of collection and processing capacity, SITA will be able to offer its clients even better flexibility and service.” Martin van Tuyl, Managing Director of SITA Paper Recycling and Trading (SPRT) Northern Europe adds: “The acquisition fits perfectly within our growth strategy. We are convinced that the takeover of DOOPA and DOOPATRANS will make an important contribution to achieving our ambitious growth plans.”

SITA rachète Doopa et Doopatrans à VPK Packaging Group
1. Général
SITA Paper Recycling and Trading (SPRT), une division de SITA Northern Europe Waste Services, une division de SUEZ Environnement, a acquis le 1er août l'ensemble du capital de Doopa NV et Doopatrans NV. Doopa NV et Doopatrans NV sont des filiales du groupe VPK Packaging Group.
Doopa NV est une entreprise spécialisée dans la collecte et le traitement de papier en provenance de communes, d'entreprises et de particuliers. Doopa NV a des établissements à Roeselare, Erembodegem et Dendermonde. Doopatrans NV dispose d'un vaste parc de véhicules utilitaires et dessert avec plus de 500 conteneurs un grand nombre de clients industriels et de particuliers.
Doopa NV et Doopatrans NV emploient 29 salariés qui continueront à travailler au sein de la nouvelle organisation. Les activités actuelles seront poursuivies sur les sites d'Erembodegem et de Roeselare et seront intégrées à la structure de SITA Paper Recycling and Trading.
« Ce rachat est une nouvelle étape dans le développement des activités de recyclage de SITA en Europe. A l'heure actuelle, SITA traite et commercialise plus de 1,5 million de tonnes de vieux papiers au sein de 17 établissements spécialisés en Belgique, aux Pays-Bas, au Luxembourg et en Allemagne. Grâce à ce rachat, SITA confirme sa position de leader sur ce marché en Belgique. La répartition géographique et la capacité de collecte et de traitement, permettront à SITA de proposer à ses clients un service et une flexibilité accrus. », déclare Mathieu Berthoud, COO de SITA Northern Europe Waste Services. Concernant la transaction, Pierre Macharis, CEO de VPK Packaging Group, explique : « C'est une opération « win-win ». La collecte et le traitement de vieux papiers étaient, pour le groupe VPK, une activité de niche. VPK souhaite se concentrer sur la production d'un large éventail d'emballages à partir de papier recyclé afin de les proposer à ses clients européens. Nous sommes très satisfaits de pouvoir céder Doopa à un groupe solide, fortement axé sur la récupération de papier. Nous sommes convaincus que ceci offrira de nouvelles opportunités aux équipes de Doopa».
