From American box to wrap-around

Alna experiences remarkable reduction in cardboard consumption as well as transport

Amongst other products, Alna Margarinfabrik AS of Norway produces tubs of potato salad: around half a million per year. Traditionally these have been packaged in American boxes or regular slotted containers. Following investment in the packing machines and discussions with Peterson Packaging, they are now packed in wrap-around cartons.

Redesigning the packaging led to savings of more than 23,500 m² of corrugated board per year. In addition, the C-flute was changed to E-flute, further reducing raw materials with about 15 tonnes per year.

The final result? Savings in cardboard consumption and transport from both Peterson to the customer and from the customer on to the wholesaler.
