On November 7th, EFTA Benelux placed the spotlight on the flexographic industry. The biennial awards for best flexographic printing work were presented at the Hilton hotel in Antwerp. The Belgian VPK Packaging division scooped up no fewer than four awards, two gold and two silver. Winning entries in the coated category:

• Gold award: corrugated cardboard tray of Danone for fresh cheese 
• Silver award: corrugated cardboard tray of Snack Food Loco Poco for the tortilla snack box

We also won gold and silver in the uncoated category:

• Gold award: American box of Q8 Oils for motor oil products
• Silver award: shelf-ready packaging of Les Délices d’Augustin for confectionery products

Winner for the second time in a row

The printing work of the Belgian packaging division had already won awards at the previous edition in 2017. This year, however, VPK’s packages did even better than two years ago, when they won two gold and one bronze award. 

Business Unit Manager Patrick Leclercq: “Through innovative design and continuous investments in the latest printing techniques, corrugated packaging is increasingly playing the role of an effective brand supporting packaging solution. Both of these winning packages within the non-coated category are produced on our recently purchased casemaker in Oudegem, a stunning technological marvel. Our Erembodegem site scooped up both awards in the coated category thanks to the experienced teams operating the Master Flex machine. However, praise is due to our entire team, from work preparation over operators, engineers to the sales department!”
