We are delighted to report a significant investment project for our production facility in Limerick, Ireland. The project will see the expansion of the site, as well as installation of some new conversion equipment. Both elements of the project are planned to be complete by the end of March.

The building extension consists of two separate extensions to the southern and western elevation of the main production site. The southern extension is 400 sqm and will accommodate a new materials handling system. The western extension consists of a 708 sqm ground floor and a 400 sqm of mezzanine floor. The ground floor will accommodate a new gluing machine and anciliary equipment, while the mezzanine will offer us the chance for more offices, meeting rooms and canteen.

In terms of equipment and systems, the new materials handling system will be supplied by Minda of Germany. It consists of three double-bay transfer shuttles, 23 lanes of belt conveyor, additional storage space for what is known as ‘Work in Progress’ (WIP), new corrugator take-off area and a new belt conveyor to feed the Texo rotary die-cutter and the new gluer (which is manufactured by Vega of Italy).

“We are really excited about the investment to our Limerick site,” confirms Mark Munnelly, Site Director – Limerick. “Our customers can be assured that is very much ‘business as usual’ during the expansion project and that they will certainly benefit from the increase in production capacity generated by this exciting site re-development."
