The team at Rigid Containers were delighted to receive two Highly Commended awards at the 2019 UK Packaging Awards in the Investment Project category and the prestigious Packaging Company of the Year category. The UK Packaging Awards ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, recognised every area of the packaging supply chain. Now in their fourteenth year, they have become the leading packaging awards event in the UK market and pride themselves on the level of expertise of its judging panel. The Investment Project category highlighted Rigid’s intense investment at its Wellington site, including the latest round of CapEx, at around £4m, which integrated extensive new equipment within the factory and leads the way for continued investment in the future.

For the Packaging Company of the Year category judges praised the revolutionary change for Rigid over the past ten years through using its USPs of being agile and entrepreneurial, with excellent service and intensive investment. Overall they noted, “Outstanding recent growth and investment has allowed Rigid to become a major corrugated player.” Group Managing Director, David Richardson commented; “We are delighted to receive two Highly Commended awards at the prestigious UK Packaging Awards.
