Cores and edge protectors

Corex® is the cores, tubes and edge protectors division of VPK Packaging Group

Every year the 14 Corex® companies in 12 countries produce some 150,000 tonnes of cardboard tubes, cores and edge protectors. They are suitable for winding a whole host of products including paper, film and varied packaging materials.

Spiral wound tubes and cores

Diameters range up to 635 mm and wall thicknesses are from 1 to over 20 mm. Any finished length of tube can be cut up to 12,000 mm, free of dust and burrs. If required, longer lengths to be cut by the user can also be supplied. Special treatments for the exterior finish include a seamless, smooth outer surface, a film covered outer strip, various printing processes, embossed or self-adhesive strip.

Parallel or convolute wound tubes

Corex® is market leader in the production of this type of tube, which is characterised by excellent strength over its length. As a result, they are mainly used for coiling textiles, non-woven articles and floor coverings. They are available with or without a flap. Our range extends from 30 to 120 mm diameter; standard lengths up to 5,200 mm; and wall thicknesses from 2 to 10 mm.

Edge protectors

Corex® edge protectors offer optimum protection for your goods. Length, flap width and thickness are totally attuned to your needs. Personalisation with your company name or logo is possible. Edge protectors with a moisture-resistant finish ae available for use in a humid environment.
